After all the 13 largest logging companies in BC were already in full gear in the province, having hired Burson-Marsteller to concoct the BC Forest Alliance as a lobbying corporate front group supported by their workers, along with the “grassroots” entity laughably termed “SHARE” (when the contest was over a parkland increase of 3%; they wouldn’t even let go of a measly 3%, -to 13%). They had the funding, and one of the largest, most effective, most morally bereft New York PR firms (just in case anything was missed) had been unleashed to reverse public sentiment in the province. And the key to reversing public sentiment was to label the environmental protesters vandals. It was impeccably timed in another way for that week.
